Budget Control Act of 2011, Is it Good for America?
The passing of this Act definitely proved we have Representatives and Senators who do not have America's best interest in mind.
This just from Standard & Poor - US Government loses triple-A credit rating downgraded to AA+
The S&P team cited a "contentious" political process and a fiscal consolidation plan that "falls short" as the primary reasons for the downgrade. In their words: "More broadly, the downgrade reflects our view that the effectiveness, stability, and predictability of American policymaking and political institutions have weakened at a time of ongoing fiscal and economic challenges to a degree more than we envisioned when we assigned a negative outlook to the rating on April 18, 2011."
S&P’s downgrade was as much a political critique as a financial conclusion. It is based on a view that U.S. political leaders would be unable to come up with at least $4 trillion in savings, which is needed to bring the nation’ debt to a manageable level over the next decade.
